Our History

In June of 2003, Bishop Jr. Thompson & Co-Pastor Lorraine Thompson, along with their two daughters and four faithful members opened the doors of the Gospel Arena International Ministry of Miami.
Since this dynamic ministry was established, Bishop Jr. Thompson has made a strong commitment to obey the voice of God. He strives to win the lost, no matter the cost, to help restore broken lives, and to help rebuild bonds of unity in broken families
As time progressed, membership began to expand, and the allowed space became very limited. In 2005, Gospel Arena International Ministry launched out and made an addition to the building in order to house the summer program and youth center. With the addition of the youth center, the lives of many children, teenagers, and young adults were positively impacted.
In the same year, Gospel Arena started its first annual back to school drive, where 500 book bags and school supplies were given to the community. Through the success of this event, the outreach ministry was formed. Under this ministry activities included providing food to the homeless, giving clothes to the unfortunate, and performing toy drives during the holidays.
In 2006, Gospel Arena International Ministry was blessed with certified Miami Dade County teachers who dedicated their time during the summer and after school, to train and educate the youth of our church, as well as, youth from the community free of charge. All fees associated with program materials and gifts that were given to the children were sponsored by the Gospel Arena family.
In 2008, Gospel Arena members reached its capacity, and many programs established under the ministry, such as Young Ladies of Purpose, and Young Men of Redemption, reaped positive outcomes. The young ladies and men who were apart of those programs disregarded the paths that were set before them which led to drugs or jail, and each of them finished high school and earned college degrees. Today, some of them have opened their own businesses and others have followed in the footsteps of their mentors and now assist in these programs.
Bishop Jr. Thompson and the Gospel Arena family have made a difference in Dade County by touching the lives of hurting and hopeless people.Their passion for change has touched people of all race, ethnic background, and gender.
In 2009, membership exceeded above all expectations and it provoked the Gospel Arena family to expand the worship facility. After two years of planning and transferring the vision into an approved plan by the City of Miami, GAIM family refused to let anything stop them from building a new sanctuary.
In June of 2011, the construction of the new sanctuary began. The journey was long and hard, but with the help of the passionate members and close followers, the vision became a reality on December 8, 2012.The ministry has since changed it motto of “a small church with a big vision” to “Only God” because it was He who made it possible for the vision to come into fruition.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide a unified vehicle and stimulus for souls to come to Christ and to teach them their maximum calling in the body of Christ

Our Vision

God has given Gospel Arena International Min. a VISION, and a divine plan, that will help reconcile all who are willing to return back to God.  Realizing that our national and worldwide vision is blurred, we seek to accept, through the grace and guidance of God, the task that is now before us. Also realizing that there is a great leadership crisis within the political and humanistic arena; we the Body of Christ must begin to fill the void so that our nation might be healed and our payers heard.

Our VISION includes establishing outreach ministries that will assist people in realizing their maximum potential in God.  Rehabilitation centers will be established where drug addicts and alcoholics can be restored to a physical, mental and spiritual and healthy state of mind; where they can pray and learn about God while striving toward academic excellence. Our vision also includes providing housing for the homeless, cafeterias for the hungry, and the retirement centers for the elderly. In addition, we will build an accredited bible college so that people might be educated in the Holy Word of God.

CATCH THE VISION!! God is seeking those who will devote their time and talent to the proclamation and demonstration of the Kingdom Of God.  We may not be able to win the world, but we must make every effort to reach all who have an ear to hear.

We face old problems, but with the renewed commitment and a made up mind.  Our mission is more is more than just a wish list.  It is an agenda of reconciliation.  Developed minds and strengthened characters are our priorities.  Our VISION is GOD’S VISION, for it brings hope to the church agenda for today and tomorrow.  It is a work that we can and must fulfill.
